Wanaque Redevelopment Plan 2009 Draft-3
The Planning Board of the Borough of Wanaque will review a proposed redevelopment ordinance for the areas location at the existing Municipal Building, an area south and north of Furnace Avenue along Ringwood Avenue, the US Aluminum property, and properties fronting on Ringwood Avenue between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at the Wanaque Municipal Building, 579 Ringwood Avenue, Wanaque, NJ. The Borough Council will hold a public hearing on the ordinance on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building.

Wanaque Feeds The Hungry needs food!
The Wanaque Food Pantry is in extreme need of replenishing non-perishable food items. Such items as canned vegetables, soups, fruits, peanut butter, jelly, cereals, tuna, chili, pastas, sauces, drinks, coffee, condiments, beans etc. would be greatly appreciated by your financially challenged neighbors. Other items in need are shampoos, soaps, first aid items etc. Baby formula especially Similac and Good Start as well as diapers also are much needed items. Please make certain that all food items are not outdated for the well-being of our participants. Your neighbors will be so grateful for your kindness, and we the food distribution committee thank you in advance for your assistance.

The Borough of Wanaque is beginning the process to receive Plan Endorsement certification from the New Jersey State Planning Commission. Certification will bring the Borough into conformance with the State Plan, and continue the Town Center Designation for the Haskell section of our community. An assessment report will be presented to the Borough Council at their July 14th meeting for approval, which begins the process for Plan Endorsement.

Renovation Study of Borough Hall
A study was done in 1999 of Boro Hall listing the many problems in renovating the
building in order to bring it up to Code.

Planning Board investigation to determine whether the proposed area described below is a redevelopment area according to the criteria set forth in state law-N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-5.
Certain properties may be recommended for inclusion in the potential redevelopment area.
The area to be investigated includes the following properties in the Ringwood Avenue area:

A map entitled “Study Area for the Area in Need of Redevelopment” dated October 26, 2006 showing the boundaries of the proposed redevelopment area and the location of the various parcels of property included therein, together with the resolution of the Borough Council setting forth the basis for the investigation appended thereto, have been prepared and can be inspected at the office of the Borough Clerk located at the Wanaque Municipal Building, 579 Ringwood Avenue in the Borough of Wanaque, during normal business hours.
A redevelopment area is designed to improve the quality of life and property values of the affected area.
Any affected party may appear in person or by agency or by attorney, or submit evidence in writing to the Planning Board. All favorable statements and objections to such a determination and evidence in support of both favorable statements and objections, given orally or in writing, shall be received and considered and made part of the public record. Borough has initiated a new program. If you
choose, you can be added to an automated resident
mailing list sent quarterly from the Collector's
Office. Each notice will be sent to your email address
a few weeks before quarterly tax payments are due.
This is a way to ensure that you avoid interest
accrued from late payments. The list in entirely
private for this one purpose only and will not be
given to any other agencies.
