Emergency Procedures in the Borough of Wanaque:

Since 9/11, both school districts and St. Francis School have been working with the Borough's Office of Emergency Management, and have established plans to act when necessary. The Police Department, First Aid Squad, Fire Department, Health Department and various Passaic County departments have been trained in appropriate response measures. While details such as shelters and evacuation routes are in place, the specific situation will dictate the response. Remain calm and follow the directions you receive. Information will come from many sources, including:

In case of an incident or a code Red declaration, don't panic. Your children may be safest at school. All teachers have been trained to address these situations. Listen to the radio for instructions. Your local government and schools are prepared to act should the need arise. With calmness and cooperation, we will make it through these trying times.
